If you're looking for an exciting auxiliary opportunity with the Public Safety and Community Services Department, here's your chance. We are seeking an auxiliary Clerk Typist 3 to work in the Stenography Department of the Burnaby RCMP Detachment. This person will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of clerical work. Duties include transcription of sensitive material with a laser sharp focus. Other tasks may include data entry, word processing reports, letters, memos, and forms. Ensures all entries are processed accurately and rapidly. The Clerk Typist 3 performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 11, including or supplemented by courses in word processing and standard commercial subjects plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Rapid and accurate typing is crucial. The successful applicant will have sound knowledge of business English in written and oral form; of clerical and record keeping methods and procedures; the ability to understand and interpret oral and written instructions; and the ability to make moderately complex computations and tabulations. If you are passionate about the upkeep of public safety, this position is for you. Please note this person must obtain and maintain an Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance. The hours of work may vary including weekends and statutory holidays.
