Reporting to the Chief Information Officer the Senior Manager, IT Governance and Security, is an experienced senior business and technology leader that supports the development of IT strategic plans, departmental and project budgets, and provides direction and guidance to team members including recruitment, performance management, training, and coaching. The Senior Manager, IT Governance and Security is responsible for providing leadership for the planning, organization and coordination of initiatives relevant to the IT Governance and Security areas and participates in various organization-wide initiatives concerning the development, communication and compliance of IT governance and security processes, policies and procedures. The Senior Manager, IT Governance and Security also provides leadership to several diverse IT teams including the Application Security team, Cyber and Infrastructure Security team, Quality Assurance team, and the Data Governance/Analytics and Reporting team. The Senior Manager, IT Governance and Security is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for the design, implementation, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the department and the organization, focusing in the areas of IT Governance, Security, Data Governance, Analytics and Reporting and Quality Assurance; developing and empowering a team of leaders and staff with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, values and competencies required to achieve digital business objectives, while ensuring core IT functions are reliable, secure, stable and efficient and collaborating with all stakeholders to effect positive buy-in and change to deliver results and increase the levels of service of the IT Department. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of seven years of recent related experience at the senior management level preferably in municipal government, plus required technical and or project certifications. Driver’s license for the Province of British Columbia is required.
