The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is currently seeking casual Client Service Centre Coordinators.  Our Client Service Centre operates 24 hour a day and 365 days a year to provide support to our communities throughout New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.  Our Coordinators must be willing to frequently work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and occasional nights.

In this role you will:

  • Schedule Home Support Workers to case assignments, ensuring the suitability and availability of the worker.
  • Respond to service requests and inquiries from clients and Home Support Workers.
  • Assist with the payroll processing for the NB Home Support Workers, including, but not limited to verifying hours submitted by the worker on paper timecards to hours in scheduling software, as well as reviewing and validating various payroll reports.
  • Be responsible for providing support to the Emergency Management program with the activation and processing of reloadable payment cards.
  • Receive inbound calls from Emergency Management personnel, and make outbound calls as required.
  • Follow proper protocol to process and activate payment cards for the beneficiaries.
  • Document all information associated with the reloadable card within the applicable databases.
  • Answer the Emergency Management toll-free line for the Atlantic provinces, and dispatch volunteers to local small-scale emergencies according to Emergency Management’s applicable on-call roster.
  • Employees and Volunteers at every level are responsible for safe work practices and to adhere to practices outlined in their applicable provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Support other Red Cross initiatives, as needed, to provide for a coordinated team effort to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable in the community.

We’re looking for:

  • The minimum qualifications for this job are a secondary school diploma and one to three years of related work-experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, both in English and French, are mandatory.
  • Ability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and build positive internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated computer skills are essential with emphasis on MS Office and ability to learn new software packages.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple issues simultaneously in a complex environment.
  • Exemplary customer service and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive client / beneficiary information.
  • A satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (EPIC) is required.
