Reporting to the Equipment Supply Associate, or designate the Technician cleans and repairs health equipment at the HELP distribution centre in Victoria B.C, and also supports HELP technical volunteers.  




Responsibility 1.  _Equipment Reprocessing                                                                                                                   60%               


  • Cleans and disinfects health equipment as per established procedures
  • reports /documents all safety issues and incidents                                                
  •  Inspects and maintains health equipment according to established standards
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and carries out repairs, following manufacturer’s specifications, when available
  • Documents repairs and maintains up-to-date equipment records in inventory management system


Responsibility 2.  _Program Operations                                                                                                                    20%


  • Disposes of surplus or unusable equipment in HELP depots

  • Performs routine cleaning and disinfection of work surfaces, storage areas, and reprocessing equipment

  • Unpacks, assembles and labels new equipment

  • On occasion assists with equipment picks ups and deliveries equipment at clients homes


    Responsibility 3Quality Assurance                                                                                                                         20%


  • Ensures all reprocessed equipment meets quality standards
  • Provides training and support to volunteers regarding equipment reprocessing
  • Assesses need for equipment, tools and parts and advises supervisor of needs
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area &  vehicle to ensure efficiency and safety
  • Screens donated equipment, ensuring that it is not subject to a recall or safety advisory

  • Complies with safe work procedures and health and safety policies


Integrates volunteer resources within the scope of responsibilities, as required.


Participates in disaster planning, preparation and response, as required.


Contributes to a healthy and safe working environment.


Performs other duties, as required.






  • As per federal funding requirements applicants must be  between the ages of 18 - 30.

  • Applicants must be a Candian Citizen or permanent resident and legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Mechanical ability

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • This position requires a satisfactory vulnerable sector check



  • Strong verbal communication skills


  • Computer Skills
  • Safety Shoes



Frequent lifting is required
