Located in downtown Montreal, our client, a small boutique law firm specializing in real estate litigation, is seeking a legal assistant to support a lawyer who is eager to train them.

YOUR ROLE

As a Legal Assistant in real estate law, you will assist a lawyer in his daily practice. Among your responsibilities, your tasks will include:

• Prepare letters and lengthy legal documents in the field of real estate law such as commercial leases, acquisitions, deeds of sale, etc;
• Prepare the usual litigation procedures in the field of real estate and banking law;
• Manage deadlines, calculate and register on the agenda;
• Assist with the organization of out-of-court examinations;
• Carry out searches in various records/registers such as the land registery, RDPRM, etc.;
• Manage the lawyers' agenda and ensure timely follow-ups;
• Coordinate meetings with various stakeholders (clients, lawyers, opposing parties, etc.);
• Organize the logistical aspects of lawyers' travel;
• Correct and update documents and correspondence to ensure that they comply with legal procedures and grammatical usage;
• Open, file physical and electronic documents, follow-up and organization of files;
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.

PREREQUISITES

• DVS in secretarial studies or DCS or any other combination of training and relevant experience;
• Minimum experience of approximately one year as a Legal Assistant;
• Experience in litigation, an asset;
• Good bilingualism, spoken and written;
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
• Strong organizational and priority management skills;
• Autonomy, thoroughness and attention to detail;
• Professionalism and dynamism.
