Role and Responsibilities:

Under the responsibility of the Electrical Foreman, we are seeking for our Kruger Brompton Plant Apprentice Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians who would like to work in industrial maintenance. As part of the trades flexibility approach, applicants will be required to work in two areas of activity – Electricity and Instrumentation –, based on their current skills and those to be developed, as set out in the skills booklet.

More specifically, you will:

  • Help to monitor equipment and oversee preventive maintenance.
  • Install electrical and instrumentation components.
  • Deal with various emergencies involving equipment damage, malfunctioning machines, etc… by carrying out the necessary plant equipment diagnostics and repairs. 
  • Perform all other related duties.

*The areas of activity are:  programmable logic controllers; various sensors; 120, 600, 2400 and 13,800 V distribution; motor starters; DC and AC motor controllers; pneumatic and hydraulic controls; compressors;  paper machines and winders; conveyors; and refiners. 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Do you have a specialized diploma of college studies in Electricity and Instrumentation (or the equivalent)?

Do you ideally have initial work experience in an industrial environment and an apprenticeship card?

*The ability to program PLCs will be considered an asset!

Are you outgoing and a team worker? Do you have a proven ability to be responsive and resourceful?

Benefits and Other Conditions:

  • Salary:  $27.20 / hour
  • Schedule: 40 hours / week, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
