POSITION SUMMARY: Part time - temporary contract (until March 31, 2024) - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (12 hour shift) - Weekends - Emergency department We are currently seeking part time Therapy Assistants to work at the Mackenzie Health Hospital site (Mackenzie Richmond Hill site). As a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team, the Occupational Therapist/ Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) will collaborate in the provision of therapeutic services. The Therapy Assistant will practice under the guidance and direction of a qualified Registered Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist. As the successful candidate, you are a graduate of a recognized OTA/PTA Certificate or Diploma program from an “accredited community college” with one year of work experience in an inpatient setting. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a high level of initiative and adaptability to rapidly changing demands. In addition, the role will have the opportunity to provide team support to the therapy assistants including education opportunities, mentorship, project involvement and addressing practice related issues. As the team lead you will work closely with the Professional Practice Leader, Rehab Services (OT, PT, Therapy Assistants) and will be given the opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership skills in a supported environment.
