POSITION REPORTS TO:  Tailings Construction Supervisor       

ROTATING SHIFT:  No - Day shift only

Purpose & Scope of The Position: 

Operate a haul truck in a manner that is consistent with the company’s safety and environmental policies in an active mining environment. This includes established criteria for haul truck operations: pre-operation inspections, efficiently staging at loaders, maintaining cycle times consistent with haulage profiles. All work must be completed in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the company’s values. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Operate in a safe and efficient manner, causing the least wear and/or damage to the equipment and mine property, maintaining the highest level of safe production possible, hauling material from point A to point B.
  • Perform and document a thorough pre-operational inspection to evaluate the safety and mechanical condition of the equipment.
  • Work independently and as a member of the team.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, attendance, confidentiality and code of conduct.
  • Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by the company.
  • Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in job performance.
  • Recognize hazardous conditions or situations and act quickly and appropriately to mitigate or eliminate those conditions or situations.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

Required Education, Work Experience & Training:

  • A valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous heavy equipment experience.
    • Experience in civil/construction dirt work is desired.

Technical Skills:

  • Follow verbal and written directions and instructions.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of mechanical functions preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation.

Travel Requirements:

  • N/A

  • N/A

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to meet the required physical demands, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
