This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Community Safety department as a Clerk Typist 3! You will perform moderately complex clerical and typing work. You will be responsible for performing transcription tasks using a variety of methods, as well as word processing reports, letters, memos, and forms, performs other related querying and data entry duties as required. Performs other related work as required.

Qualifications include high school graduation supplemented by typing, word processing or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of standard clerical procedures and the ability to use common office equipment. An incumbent should be able to use software programs including MS Word and Start-Stop Omniversal. Working knowledge of JUSTIN or PRIME would be an asset. Sound knowledge of business English in written and oral form. Ability to deal effectively with internal and external clients. High typing speed with high accuracy and transcription of lengthy documents experience is required. Police/criminal justice environment experience preferred. The incumbent must obtain and maintain an Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance.

Hours of work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and scheduled on an as needed basis. Typical shifts in this position are Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
