What will you be doing!
- Designing and developing the hardware architecture for the organization's IT systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance, while maintaining alignment with the organization's business goals and IT strategy.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of the IT enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap.
- Defining hardware architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and maintainability across the organization.
- Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards in hardware architecture design and implementation
- Conducting regular assessments of the organization's IT architecture, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluating and selecting hardware components, including servers, storage devices, network equipment, and peripherals, based on business requirements, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to hardware architecture methodologies, virtualization, and best practices.
- Conducting research and performing proof-of-concepts to identify and evaluate new hardware technologies, solutions, and vendors.
- Defining and documenting hardware configurations, specifications, and best practices.
- Developing and maintaining strong vendor relationships to leverage external expertise and innovative technologies as needed
- Collaborating with software architects, network analysts, infrastructure analysts, security analysts, and software developers to ensure that the hardware infrastructure aligns with the
organization's software and network requirements.
- Assessing and recommending cloud service providers and platforms, considering factors such as reliability, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Performing capacity planning and make recommendations for hardware upgrades or replacements to meet future growth and performance requirements.
- Developing and maintaining strong vendor relationships to leverage external expertise and innovative technologies as needed.
- Providing technical guidance and support to IT teams and stakeholders during hardware design, selection, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical software and cloud solutions.
- Working closely with procurement teams to evaluate hardware vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships
- Other duties as assigned by your manger.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Zachman Enterprise Architect Certification, TOGAF Certification, Axelos ITIL)
- Master Certification, Open Group Certified Architect, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), etc.) are a plus.
- Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in an Information Technology role.
- Proven experience as an IT hardware architect or a similar role, designing and implementing hardware solutions in complex IT environments.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- In-depth knowledge of IT architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise hardware architecture principles, server hardware, storage technologies, network infrastructure, and security technologies.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing hardware virtualization technologies, including Nutanix and VMWware.
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and their impact on hardware architecture, business processes, and systems integration.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as aService (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
- Proficiency in infrastructure management and orchestration tools, such as Microsoft M365, Intune, Azure,
- Active Directory, and Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom .
