What Will You Be Doing!

As a Project Leader, you will support the delivery of medium‑risk decommissioning projects at Gentilly‑1. Working closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, while meeting regulatory and organizational requirements.

  • Assisting the Project Manager in leading the delivery of medium‑risk decommissioning projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives
  • Planning, budgeting, and allocating resources through collaboration with management and internal clients to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines
  • Leading multiple projects simultaneously, typically three (3) to four (4) projects totaling $5M to $10M annually over a three‑ to five‑year horizon
  • Assembling and supporting project teams, including project planning coordinators, to develop cost estimates using work‑package breakdowns
  • Supporting the definition of scope of work, project priorities, and division of responsibilities
  • Reviewing project progress with project teams and monitoring deliverables against approved plans
  • Motivating team members to meet quality, scope, schedule, and cost objectives
  • Securing seconded resources through functional and resource managers
  • Controlling project scope and managing project risks, including escalation of issues impacting cost or schedule
  • Assisting in the establishment and administration of project budgets and schedules, and approving scope changes within project management guidelines
  • Supporting project performance reporting to clients, management, and stakeholders
  • Leading the ongoing delivery of project objectives, including setting performance expectations and providing feedback to project staff

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing
    OR
  • Membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute
    OR
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management within reactor operations and/or nuclear decommissioning environments
  • Knowledge of reactor components and the design of various reactor types
  • Experience across project lifecycle phases, including Project Definition, Concept Development, and Decommissioning
  • Experience applying project management processes for initiation, planning, execution, control, and close‑out
  • Experience applying core project management knowledge areas, including scope, cost, time, quality, communications, human resources, risk, procurement, and integration
  • Experience delivering projects within a regulated environment, including familiarity with federal licensing requirements, nuclear codes and standards, and environmental regulations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience developing and leading the execution of project plans
  • Ability to define scope, set priorities, evaluate and manage risk, and monitor performance
  • Ability to organize and direct the work of moderate‑sized project teams
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience building and sustaining teams of approximately six (6) to twelve (12) resources
  • Knowledge of business and management principles related to project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Strong understanding of procurement and financial processes
  • Demonstrated negotiation and contract‑administration skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and codes applicable to decommissioning
  • Knowledge and application of radiation protection principles, measurements, and contamination control

Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3–5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.
CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”


Working Conditions

Working in an office environment where regular concentration at a computer screen is required.
Routine site visits may be required depending on project stage and require strict adherence to all safety and radiation protection requirements.
Work is performed with minimal supervision and requires strong self‑motivation.
Occasional extended hours and travel may be required.

Working Schedule:
Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day, for a thirty‑seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.

Location: Onsite

Our Gentilly‑1 Prototype Reactor, shut down and partially decommissioned, is located on the Gentilly Nuclear Generating Station site on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in Bécancour, Québec, approximately 100 km northeast of Montréal.

Please note: This is a fully onsite position based at our Gentilly‑1 location, Québec.

Qu’allez‑vous faire?

À titre de chef(fe) de projet, vous appuierez la livraison de projets de déclassement à risque moyen à Gentilly‑1 en collaboration avec le gestionnaire de projet et des équipes multidisciplinaires.

  • Appuyer la livraison de projets de déclassement afin d’atteindre les objectifs de calendrier, coûts, qualité et sécurité
  • Planifier, budgéter et allouer les ressources en collaboration avec la direction et les clients internes
  • Gérer plusieurs projets simultanément, totalisant de 5 M $ à 10 M $ par an
  • Constituer et soutenir les équipes de projet, y compris les coordonnateurs de la planification
  • Appuyer la définition de la portée, des priorités et des responsabilités des projets
  • Assurer le suivi de l’avancement des livrables par rapport aux plans approuvés
  • Motiver les équipes afin de respecter les contraintes de portée, de coûts et d’échéanciers
  • Gérer la portée et les risques des projets et aviser la direction des enjeux potentiels
  • Appuyer la gestion des budgets, des échéanciers et la production de rapports
  • Fournir une rétroaction et un encadrement continus au personnel de projet

Profil recherché

Formation

  • Baccalauréat (avec mention) en génie ou en sciences d’une université reconnue
    OU
  • Adhésion à un ordre professionnel pertinent
    OU
  • Certification professionnelle en gestion de projet (PMP)

Expérience

  • Au moins cinq (5) ans d’expérience en gestion de projets dans des environnements nucléaires ou de déclassement
  • Connaissance des composantes et des systèmes des réacteurs
  • Expérience couvrant les phases de définition, de développement de concepts et de déclassement
  • Expérience dans l’application des processus de gestion de projet
  • Expérience dans des environnements réglementés

Connaissances, compétences et aptitudes

  • Capacité à diriger l’élaboration et l’exécution de plans de projet
  • Aptitude à définir la portée, établir les priorités et gérer les risques
  • Capacité à organiser le travail d’équipes de taille moyenne
  • Excellentes aptitudes relationnelles et de communication
  • Connaissance des principes de gestion, d’approvisionnement et de finances
  • Compétences en négociation et en administration de contrats
  • Connaissance des règlements, normes et exigences de sécurité en déclassement
  • Connaissance et application des principes de radioprotection

Admissibilité requise à l’habilitation de sécurité

Statut de fiabilité avec cote de sécurité donnant accès au site (SASC), exigeant un minimum de trois (3) à cinq (5) ans d’historique vérifiable.


Conditions de travail

Horaire de travail :
Cinq (5) jours par semaine, sept heures et demie (7,5) par jour, pour une semaine de travail de trente‑sept heures et demie (37,5).


Lieu : Sur site

Le réacteur prototype Gentilly‑1, arrêté et partiellement déclassé, est situé sur le site de la centrale nucléaire de Gentilly à Bécancour, Québec, sur la rive sud du fleuve Saint‑Laurent.
