The Production Coordinator provides budget and resource forecasting, and continuous improvement support to the Computerized Maintenance Management System Section Head. What will you be doing?

  • Leading in the review and improvement of the WL Engineering and planning resources availability to support schedule and site initiatives.
  • Interfacing with customers, maintenance work group and support groups to prioritize work to meet schedule requirements through reviews of the 30-60-90 look ahead.
  • Providing support for work activities using the planning process incorporating a thorough understanding of WL computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and the WL Integrated Work Control Process.
  • Preparing the WL Work Instruction Packages for work release including final review of completeness. Compiling Completed Work instruction packages and supporting documentation and file into EDRMS.
  • Enhancing safety culture and organizational excellence through leadership, accountability, communication and process improvement. 
  • Providing and updating EAC forecast Engineering and planning budget on a monthly basis.
  • Working with Project Controls to prepare Variance Analysis reports, monthly departmental charges and corrections.
  • Producing, updating and upgrading Engineering and planning Work Control documentation.
  • Coordinating and consolidating the tracking and status reporting of: 1) Engineering Change Control documents, 2) Engineering job status included in P6 schedules, 3) DDC&C documents and 4) other engineering activities as requested by the WL Engineering Manager.
  • Assisting with creating and maintain resource leave calendars and track against site schedule resource loads.
  • Providing support for the Engineering and Planning group “Work Flow Optimization” to enhance the Whiteshell Laboratories Decommissioning Project (WLDP) mandate.
  • Improving and enhancing Key Performance Metrics and Resource Capacity Forecasting to assist cross functional teams in achieving site wide decommissioning milestones and deliverables.
  • Providing forecast outlook of Planning and Engineering resource requirements for preventative maintenance, project and decommissioning work.
  • Monitoring weekly ImpAct Reports to ensure all data and actions generated in the Devonway system are on track.
  • Providing Engineering and Planning process technical support as required.
  • Providing Engineering and Planning status reporting for the Branch team members and to include summary reports easily understood by WL senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in the use of spread sheets and efficient collaboration with other branch team mates to find effective and strategic solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Minimum three (3) year college diploma or equivalent education and experience combined with a minimum five (5) years of technical maintenance / work management / engineering experience.
  • Experience
    • Experience planning and scheduling work, work management exposure, and have demonstrated the technical ability to assume responsibilities as described above.
      Familiarity with maintenance work procedures, General Conduct of Operations, site procedures and work permit requirements.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Skilled in use of computer programs (word and excel) and willingness to participate in continuing training in WMS related software.
    • Knowledge of electronic financial management systems, P6 and ATOM.
    • Proficiency in the use of spread sheets and efficient collaboration with other branch team mates to find effective and strategic solutions.
    • Technical skills and ability to format and edit formal documents.
    • Knowledge of CNL electronic filing system.
    • Familiarity with maintenance and engineering processes and procedures, N286 documentation, General Conduct of Operations, site procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required  
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” 

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment under minimal supervision.
  • We have a compressed work week, which consists of a four-day work week and ten hours a day - starting at 6 am.
