Can you see yourself as an Electrical Service Attendant and a Nuclear Plant? If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you! The Electrical Service Attendant performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of electrical equipment throughout the site to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical equipment.
 
What will you be doing!  
  • Inspecting and servicing electrical equipment (eg light bulb replacement, greasing of electric motors) by oiling, greasing and associated tasks involved with preventive maintenance.  Disposing of used materials in compliance with CNL requirements.
  • Assisting tradespersons when required.
  • Documenting maintenance activities by completing all pertinent paper work such as MP5 job cards to ensure that an accurate maintenance history is available for review and or audit purposes.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment provided to the electricians to ensure they are in good working order and returned to their respective tool cribs or storage area in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping practices of all work areas, tools, and equipment, adhering to provincial, federal, and CNL regulations in order to provide a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Attending monthly safety meetings and immediately reporting any safety concerns and/or infractions.  
  • Applying Event Free Tools and Pre-Job Brief information throughout the execution of assigned work and modeling this behavior and knowledge to others.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.   
 What we are looking for:  
  • Education
    •  Secondary school graduation diploma and twelve (12) months of related experience
  • Experience
    • Knowledge of electrical equipment and associated systems in order to efficiently address service and maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Read blueprints and drawings specifically to have a thorough understanding of the scope of the job in question.
    • Read, write, and communicate effectively to be able to work in multi-trade groups and communicate with CNL staff across a broad range of disciplines.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required  
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
