The City of Lethbridge is looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, technical leader to join us in the permanent role of Infrastructure Services Application Analyst. This position ensures that the business unit’s applications are effectively managed, tailored and optimized to support operational needs. We are looking for a results-oriented team member who is committed to providing exemplary public service.
This position provides valuable insights through analytics, while collaborating closely with Finance, Corporate IT and Risk and Controls to delineate responsibilities and prevent confusion, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with organizational standards. This role will support applications specific to the Transit as well as Planning and Design Departments as well as other areas of Infrastructure Services as needed.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Monitor Application performance to ensure efficient operation for Infrastructure Services departments.
Identify opportunities to develop efficiencies related to core work priorities and major accountabilities that meet corporate needs
Ensure that systems and applications comply with relevant legislation, organizational policies and guidelines, while providing detailed reports for compliance verification
Manage multiple complex projects related to Infrastructure Services departments related to business applications
Plan, design and implement new operational system procedures and process
Lead the evaluation of proposed software
Manage the availability, usability and integrity of data and systems for the Infrastructure Services Family, including but not limited to Planning and Design, Lethbridge Transit and other Tempest stakeholder users
Assure data quality in terms of accuracy, accessibility, consistency and completeness. This requires reviewing the contacts in the system, identifying duplicate contacts and consolidating data
Create and manage customized and standard reporting and analytic tools to provide information required for business operations and reporting.
Develop and execute database queries to solve problems and validate data using SQL or similar tools.
Assist in the configuration, maintenance, deployment, versioning and operation of third party systems for both hardware and software
Setting up new users and changing application access as requested
We are looking for candidates with the following preferred qualifications:
Post-Secondary education in computer science or a related field experience would be considered.
A minimum of 5 years experience within a large organization, including experience in data analysis, analytic methods, systems development and project management
Experience leading data analysis and business process redesign
Experience building dashboards, data analytics and providing data information to users to enable data driven decision making process.
Experience leaving and managing projects
Experience and understanding of terminology and processes within a Transit department as well as Planning, Building Inspection and Taxation areas
Knowledge and skill with specialized reporting tools, (Power BI, Crystal Reports, Reports Now, etc)
Knowledge of application or systems development and life cycling
Proficient knowledge and skill with Structured Query Language (SQL) query tools
Proactive analytical and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships in a collaborative and integrated manner
WAGE: $45.88 per hour
