The National Capital Commission (NCC) is actively seeking students who would like to join us this summer and work alongside our dedicated professionals. Our Summer student program runs from May 2025 to August 2025.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Official Residences Division requires self-motivated, hardworking, enthusiastic summer students interested in being part of a dedicated team who maintains and displays national landscape treasures in six Official Residences in Ontario and Quebec. We operate out of Rideau Hall located at 1 Sussex. We strive to maintain the highest standard for these residences in the National Capital Region. Students will acquire hands-on outdoor experience in many aspects of our summer landscape program, including floral bed displays, weed control, pruning, planting, set up and tear down for special State visits and public events, irrigation and equipment operation, landscape maintenance, hardscape, maintain civil assets.

WORK LOCATION
Official Residences/Rideau Hall at 1 Sussex (Ottawa, ON).
*Please note that this location is not accessible through public transit, so candidates must arrange for their own means of transportation.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Full-time High School, CEGEP, college or university student.
• Enrolled in full-time studies in the next academic year.
o This includes persons with disabilities considered to have full-time status by their academic institution, and participants in adult secondary-level education and retraining programs under the authority of an accredited academic institution.
o Students who are in their final year of academic study and who are not intending to return to full-time studies are eligible to work part-time up until the time they graduate.
• Possess or eligible to obtain reliability or secret security clearance.
OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Possess a valid driver’s licence (Ontario; Class G, Quebec: Class 5, or Provincial equivalent) and provide a good driver’s abstract.
• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Willing to work some overtime including weekends on occasion.
RATES OF PAY
Student rates of pay are determined by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
