ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to the Director, Faculty of Health Professional Studies.
SUMMARY
KPU’s Faculty of Health Professional Studies department is seeking two to three Lead Facilitators to facilitate an intensive two-day emergency situation training course designed specifically for Correctional Service Canada (CSC) nurses. This two-day training will take place in person at KPU Langley twice per month (four days total each month). The training must occur on weekdays between 8am-4pm, and will likely need to occur on Tuesday/Wednesdays, or Wednesday/Thursdays.
The first day of the course will focus on reviewing essential nursing skills, including assessments, medication administration and IV initiation, as well as CSC-specific documentation, and CSC’s Emergency Drug Box and Emergency Trauma Bag contents. The second day will be conducted in KPU’s High Fidelity Simulation lab, where CSC trainees will engage in four high-fidelity emergency scenarios. As Lead Facilitator, you will be pivotal in ensuring that CSC nurses are well-prepared and confident to deliver safe and professional care in emergency situations, in alignment with CSC Nursing Clinical Protocols for Emergency Situations.

Anticipated hourly pay rate: $1500 lump sum for 2 8-hour days (no pay for prep time)
