About the Role
The Strategic Grants Writer is responsible for working together with the SFU Climate Innovation team and partners to develop and manage grants and fundraising efforts for community-centred climate action and innovation research-for-impact. The role is responsible for identifying strategic funding opportunities (including grants, corporate and philanthropic funding), interpreting and synthesizing the diverse interests and priorities of relevant SFU Climate Innovation researchers and community partners, and preparing proposals for complex interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary funding applications. The Strategic Grants Writer will work closely with the Executive Director and the Director of Strategy & Operations of SFU Climate Innovation to prepare successful high-impact climate change and sustainability research and fundraising proposals.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Communications, Climate Change, Sustainability or a relevant discipline and five years of directly related experience, including the development, writing, editing and review of successful grant proposals, elevating research profiles, data collection/ management and analysis; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
