Applications are invited for the position of ­­­­­­­­­­­­Web and Digital Development Coordinator in the Marketing Division, located at the Welland Campus. The starting hourly rate is $39.34/hr (Pay Band I - $39.34/hr to $45.59/hr) for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the successful candidate is the primary functional lead for the web team, with the mandate to increase applications and conversion rates, produce digital media assets to effectively build college brand awareness and support the growth objectives for Niagara College. 

The Web and Digital Development Coordinator’s primary role is to coordinate all web site production-related projects, updates, processes and incidents at the College, including acting as functional lead liaison for the College with web site host, 3rd parties, internal departments and other stakeholders within and outside the College as required. The incumbent collaborates with Marketing staff to align digital and print creative development, while staying abreast of cutting edge digital web strategies in order to enhance Niagara College’s ‘web’ presence.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Creates scope, project, structure, wireframe and process documentation
  • Coordinates all web site production-related projects, updates, and processes
  • Builds creative concepts, designs digital graphics and develops coding web sites and components which are brand and AODA compliant
  • Coordinates web development team and provides guidance on content, theme and plugin updates on web sites
  • Maintains web standards, safety, security for the College
  • Serves as primary point of contact with web site host and provides on call support for web emergencies
  • Develops and maintains basic Wordpress themes and plugins that support functionality requirements
  • Estimates the time, scope and resources needed to achieve project goals and contribute to “scope of build” conversations with development team, project managers, designers and external developers

 

Qualifications:  

  • Three (3) year diploma or degree in Multimedia, Web Design, Interactive Media or similar field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining many web sites with focus on planning, content structure, and design and development
  • Significant experience with applicable web technologies and graphical standards and ability to consult and provide recommendations, which includes 2 years of experience triaging work requests and delegating projects to a small web team
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and integrating multiple web projects
  • Proven experience in WordPress multisite accessible web development, adhering to web and accessibility (AODA) standards, with a portfolio of completed projects. Experience with Gutenberg would be an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, making strategic decisions aligned with college objectives
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying ideas and providing guidance to others
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven project management, risk management and collaboration experience
