ASSISTANT MANAGER, TRANSIT MAINTENANCE

(Permanent, Full-Time)

West Vancouver Transit has an immediate opening for a permanent full-time Assistant Maintenance Manager, Transit. This is a mid-level management role responsible for fleet reliability and quality assurance. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position will be responsible for: monitoring and controlling fleet reliability KPIs, developing and implementing standard operating procedures, investigating and correcting technical failures, support recruitment and performance management, and act as the Maintenance Manager in their absence.

 

The successful candidate will possess:

·       Completion of Grade 12 plus post-secondary Business Administration diploma and substantial supervisory experience in the Transit industry, or an equivalent combination of education and Transit experience. 

·       Trade Qualification or Apprenticeship in Commercial Transport.

·       A valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.

 

Additional requirements for this position include a minimum of five years of relevant experience demonstrated by management of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, vehicle quality assurance work at the technologist or trades level, considerable supervisory experience in fleet maintenance or a related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

The following would be considered an asset:

·       CVSE Facility Operator Certificate

·       Registration as an Applied Scientist

·       A valid Class 2 or 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement.

Position Status:

Exempt – Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work:

35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Salary:

$113,100 - $127,200 per annum (2025 rates)
