Founded in 1974, the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) is a flagship institution in the Université du Québec network, whose mission is the technological and economic development of Québec. Specializing in applied engineering, ÉTS trains 25% of engineers in the province and has a student body of 12,800. The École de technologie supérieure de Montréal, one of Canada's three leading engineering research and teaching institutions, invites applications for the position of Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in the Natural Sciences and Engineering (NSERC), to support the Strategic Direction-Climate Action of its Strategic Research Plan, and to participate in the mission of the AdapT Institute on circular built environment, and resilience to climate changes: AdapT – Research Institute on Resilient and Circular Infrastructure - ÉTS Montréal. The mission of the AdapT Institute is to develop innovative solutions for the design, construction and operation of climate-resilient infrastructures in the context of transition to a low-carbon and circular economy. The incumbent will be called upon to co-direct the Institute.
With the creation of this Chair, ÉTS Montréal aims to strengthen its Strategic Areas - Infrastructures and Built Environments and Sustainable Development, Circular Economy and Environmental Issues. More specifically, the Chair proposal will address issues related to the adaptation of the built environment to climate change.
This Tier 1 Canada Research Chair is for seven years, renewable once, is worth $200,000 per year and contribute to the full funding of the Chairholder's research.
In addition, the opportunity is offered to submit, at the same time, an infrastructure application to the Canada Foundation for Innovation's (CFI) John Evans Leaders Fund program, co-funded by the Quebec Government, with a maximum value of $500,000.

2) A statement of your five most important contributions to research over the course of your career, explaining their importance and impact;

a) objectives and main expected achievements (100 words maximum);
b) summary program of activities and contribution to current knowledge in the field;
