This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The Business Planner within the Design and Engineering department is responsible for supporting divisional activities that are in line with corporate strategic objectives and direction as well as the tracking, monitoring and reporting on specific initiatives and special programs.
What you’ll do
Lead structured approaches to business case development, and proposals for portfolio-wide programs including:
Development of business case methodologies to justify investments in capital repair projects and revenue business activities.
Alignment of business case methodologies and processes to investment approval thresholds, decision making protocols, procurement policies and processes.
Development of recommendations to engage management and staff groups in capital plan projects and revenue business activities.
Coach, guide and deliver implementation of approved recommendations to engage stakeholders.
Development of business case methodologies to justify investments in capital repair projects and revenue business activities.
Alignment of business case methodologies and processes to investment approval thresholds, decision making protocols, procurement policies and processes.
Development of recommendations to engage management and staff groups in capital plan projects and revenue business activities.
Coach, guide and deliver implementation of approved recommendations to engage stakeholders.
Model Business Units and project management processes to reflect divisional organizational structure and programs and explain methods, planning and budgeting priority selection to stakeholders including:
Development of packaged documents that clearly explain the methodologies applied to determine the capital repair projects forming annual and multi-year capital projects.
Preparation of methodology and outcomes presentations for delivery to stakeholders in other divisions, ELT, Board, residents and site staff.
Establishment of methods to engage stakeholders to provide feedback on priorities that can be accommodated in the priority selection process in current and future year capital plans.
Coach, guide and deliver presentations through structured group sessions designed to engage Board, Executives, staff and other stakeholders.
Lead implementation of work management methodologies with structured processes to manage ad-hoc divisional initiatives and coordination with other divisions including:
Development of Terms Of Reference (TORs) to establish rationale, goals, objectives, scope, methodology, stakeholders, management structure and timetable for completion.
Development of options, recommendations and plan for completing initiatives.
Development of an implementation plan for approved option, set-up implementation team and distribute tasks.
Preparation and delivery of progress reports, establishment of consensus and recommendations and coordination of implementation of changes in direction as required.
Monitor the affiliated Business Units Performance Improvement Program to ensure its alignment with the Facilities Management and Corporation goals in the strategic plan, including:
Development and implementation of Division Performance and Progress Reports and processes to document progress in achieving strategic KPIs assigned to the Business Units of interest to ELT and the Board.
Design and implementation of progress, performance collection and reporting process to cover Board, ELT, strategic KPI and Business Units management requirements.
Application of business process reengineering, best practices research, process mapping, cost and benefit analysis and other structured analytical techniques to develop recommendations for improvement.
Coordination of the implementation of structured performance review sessions for Division Managers to consider proposed areas for improvement and review the results of actions taken.
What you’ll need
Post-secondary education in Public or Business Administration or equivalent qualifications.
Bachelor's and University Degree in Business, Finance, MBA, Business/Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering are preferred
Minimum of 5 years of in a large public corporate environment in one or more of the following areas: policy analysis or development, performance measurement systems, internal controls, creation and monitoring of accountability systems.
Proficiency with computerized business applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications.
Proven ability to analyze and interpret data, prepare reports, presentations and statements.
