Under the direction of the Service Line Manager, the Field Heat Treatment Technician is responsible for supporting operations within an assigned region and is accountable forperforming heat treatment processes directly at client facilities. You will utilize your technical expertise to ensure the safe and effective application of heat treatment methods, contributing to the integrity and performance of critical components and structures. The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the missions, vision, and values of FMP Group LP.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.

What you get to do:

  • Conduct on-site setup and operation of heat treatment equipment, including furnaces and ovens.
  • Monitor and control heating and cooling processes to achieve desired material properties.
  • Perform heat treatment procedures according to specified protocols and client requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of field operations and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Become proficient in heat treatment principles, methods, and equipment operation.
  • Get a solid understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
  • Interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Interact with clients using excellent communication and interpersonal skills

What we’re looking for:

  • Willing to be apart of the Local Union
  • Proven experience as a Heat Treatment Technician or similar role, preferably in a field environment.
  • Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Common Safety Orientation
  • CSTS-2020 Ticket
  • WHMIS 2015 Ticket
  • Standard First Aid with AED (Level C)
  • Valid H2S Alive Ticket
  • Invested in a safety-oriented work environment
  • Ability to navigate work sites and adapt to daily changes in scopes of work
