Under the direction of the Service Line Manager, the Machinist is responsible for safely supporting operations within an assigned region and is accountable for the set up and operating precision metal cutting and grinding machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills and grinders to make and repair products made from metals, non-ferrous materials (materials that do not contain iron) and new alloys. The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the missions, vision, and values of FMP Group LP.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.

What you get to do:

  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce parts.
  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure quality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and supervision to apprentices

What we’re looking for:

  • Willing to be apart of the Local Millwright Union
  • Have experience in the machinist trade
  • Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Common Safety Orientation
  • CSTS-2020 Ticket
  • WHMIS 2015 Ticket
  • Standard First Aid with AED (Level C)
  • Valid H2S Alive Ticket
  • Invested in a safety-oriented work environment
  • Ability to navigate work sites and adapt to daily changes in scopes of work
