As a Leak Repair Technician, you will play a key role in delivering on-line leak sealing solutions on live, pressurized systems in high-risk industrial environments. You’ll work directly on operating systems in oil & gas and chemical facilities, applying specialized techniques to control leaks without interrupting production. This role is safety-sensitive and requires a strong mechanical background, critical thinking, and a commitment to precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform online leak sealing on live steam, hydrocarbon, chemical, and other process lines.
  • Assess, measure using 3D scanning, and prepare leak sites using industry-standard sealing compounds, clamps, and enclosures.
  • Interpret isometric drawings, piping specifications, and plant layouts to ensure accurate repair execution.
  • Communicate job plans and progress clearly with supervision, safety teams, and client personnel.
  • Complete detailed repair logs, risk assessments, and timesheets accurately and on time.
  • Work in compliance with the company’s safety policies and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and organize leak repair equipment and tooling.
  • Respond to emergency leak calls and participate in scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or trades certification is an asset).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in leak sealing online services.
  • Valid H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection certifications (or willing to obtain).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems in oil & gas or chemical process facilities.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in hot/cold weather conditions.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract.
  • Must be flexible for travel, out of town work, night shifts, overtime, and on-call work as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Line Freezing, Composite Repairs, 3D Scanning, Line Crimping.
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, ABSA, and plant safety codes.
  • Previous experience working at SAGD facilities, refineries, or chemical plants.
  • Knowledge of mechanical services such as Torquing, Field Machining, Hydraulic Bolting is an asset.
