CMLS Financial is looking for a Business Analyst to join our growing Residential line of business. Supporting the CMLS Solutions team, the Business Analyst will be responsible for managing reputational and financial risk by ensuring that the business is acting in a timely and professional manner and following all guidelines set out by CMLS. The Business Analyst will be responsible for the collection, distribution and analysis of business requirements in an effort to support existing and new business within the company. The Business Analyst will also be required to work with a variety of external business partners including lawyers, insurers, brokers, other Lenders as well as internal departments and stakeholders.
Consult with functional line of business managers and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of system access.
Liaison between department end-users, technical analysts, IT analysts, consultants and external vendors to best support change management strategy
Identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and / or non-system changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new system and / or operational changes
Track and fully document changes and implementation strategies including conclusions and impact analysis
Where change requires more than configuration, work with origination team to document requirements, Manage requirements through prioritization process, Support developers through solutioning and developer questions
Assist with policy and procedure management including updating of documented controls
Configure LMS360 to maintain users, conditions, alerts, products, rates, features
Comply with all internal standards and guidelines as well as all federally and provincially regulated policies and laws as related to Residential Mortgage Underwriting and Funding
Coordinates user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality
Some travel (when approved) and overtime may be required
Education / Experience / Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate or a related field
3-7 years of Residential Mortgage Underwriting experience with 2+ years of experience within a business process analysis role
Excellent analytical skills; strong user of Visio and Excel; technology-savvy
Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite products
Experience with LMS360
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Have high attention to detail
Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Demonstrates professionalism, good judgment and integrity in daily operations
Proactive approach to work with the ability to take initiative and work independently
