Title : Client Service Clerk

Employee Working Location :  In-person (Kamloops, BC)  

Employment Status : Co-op/Summer Student (2 Months)

Salary Band : $ 21.00 /hour

In this role, you will :   

  • Provides customer service and volunteer support to HELP.
  • Provides support to enhance the profile of the Canadian Red Cross in the community.
  • Maintains quality control by ensuring Red Cross quality assurance standards are met.
  • Response to and transfer calls on a multi-line telephone.
  • Contacts clients about outstanding equipment.
  • Assists with paperwork and filing as required.
  • Provides support to other Red Cross programs if the need arises.

          

What we are looking for :

  • Completion of secondary education (Grade 12).
  • Training in-office procedures and customer service, a minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent computer skills including data entry and database skills; switchboard experience will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural issues.
  • Experience working with volunteers is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability, and flexibility to manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to physically lift and carry 50 pounds.

         

Working conditions : 

  • The typical work week will be daytime hours from Monday to Friday and a minimum of 35 hours per week.
  • The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
  • The candidate must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*, and must be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible.
