ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS / FINANCIAL SERVICES SUPPORT

The National Capital Commission is looking for Administrative Assistants and Financial Services Support for indeterminate or temporary positions. The positions are classified as RÉ-03 ($50,375 to $63,754 per annum; 2021 rate of pay under review).

JOB OVERVIEW

As an Administrative Assistant/Financial Services Support you will support program activities and ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget by providing a range of administrative duties. You will collaborate with internal corporate services partners to ensure the resolution of human resources, financial and procurement issues.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION 
Secondary School diploma.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) to three (3) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following:
•    Providing administrative or financial support to senior management.
•    Assisting with scheduling for meetings and events.
•    Drafting, reviewing, translating, proofreading, and formatting official correspondence.
•    Developing and maintaining internal tracking and reporting tools for financial items. 
•    Arranging for approval and payment of goods and service invoices.

KNOWLEDGE
•    Of software packages, including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

ABILITIES
•    To work under tight deadlines, with frequent interruptions, and distractions.
•    To handle multiple requests and priorities.
•    To demonstrate good judgment and awareness of the sensitive nature of confidential material, to exercise tact and discretion.
•    To research, analyze and synthesize information.
•    To pay special attention to detail.

ASSETS 
•    Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures relating to expenses and accounts payable.
•    Knowledge of consumption taxes (GST, HST, QST).
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic AX Financial systems.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT    
•    Possess or eligible to obtain Reliability or Secret security clearance.
•    Linguistic profile: Bilingual BBB or CBC.
•    Positions are in the National Capital Region. The persons chosen for the positions must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace (40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario).
•    The National Capital Commission offer a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently asked to work on-site at least two (2) days per week.
