About the position

 

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time First Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath on a roster schedule 6 on and 6 off. This position is based out of the Port of Devonport, Tasmania. As such, it is a position based in Tasmania. It is aboard MV Goliath which primarily operates in the Bass Strait. At CSL, our east coast operations technically report in to our Sydney Office (North Sydney, NSW).  The First Engineer is responsible for compiling the list of maintenance and repairs as required.

 

In addition, the First Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all machinery and equipment operates and is maintained to the highest standards as required by Statutory Authorities, Classification Societies and the Company;
  • Assisting the Chief in identifying deficiencies in procedures, the inappropriateness or absence of procedures, and for suggesting improvements to the system;
  • Being the Senior Officer in charge of daily Engine Room and maintenance;
  • Allocating crew members to tasks to be undertaken.

 

About you

  • Educational Requirement: As per AMSA Marine Order 72 (mandatory)
  • Technical Requirement: Minimum 3 years sea time as an Engineer Watchkeeper (mandatory)
  • MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain)
  • Current AMSA Medical (required or ability to obtain)
  • Australian Citizen or Valid Work Visa (required)
