About the position

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Engineer Technician - Controls to join our transhipment vessel; Donnacona on a roster schedule 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. This vessel operates in Cape Preston, Western Australia and is a 24/7-hour operation for our customer; CITIC Pacific Mining. Main purpose of the job is to assist in the maintenance of the operational capabilities of the ships engine and mechanical equipment. The Engineer Technician - Controls are to assist in the operation, management, and maintenance of the vessel so it remains in optimum condition to ensure cargoes are transhipped to the Ocean-Going Vessel in an efficient, professional and timely manner.

 

The Engineer Technician – Controls is responsible for:

  • Engineer Technician – Controls duties and functions, engine duties and functions;
  • Conducting tests of engine room systems as required by the Chief Engineer;
  • Maintenance of engine controls as required by the Chief Engineer;
  • Maintaining propulsion, auxiliary and ancillary machinery to ensure efficient and effective operation of the vessel and in accordance with PMS requirements;
  • Maintaining Self Unloading machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and effective operation and in accordance with PMS requirements;
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to the Employee by the Company from time to time within the Employee's skills, competence and qualifications.

 

About you

  • Educational requirement (mandatory): At least a relevant Diploma
  • Technical requirement (mandatory): At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  •  Certification requirements (desirable): Enter and work in a Confined Space certification; Work safely at height certification
  • Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required) 
  • Current AMSA Medical
  • Australian citizen or hold a valid work visa
