Reporting to Director, Global Engagement, this position is responsible for assisting with the University’s overall internationalization initiatives, participating in strategic planning efforts and assisting with management of the overall operation of International Educational Advising Unit.
The Manager, Global Engagement is responsible for the ongoing management and delivery of a comprehensive system for all international students that positively impacts student success. Ensuring the delivery of optimal services to international students in accordance to KPU’s vision and strategic plan.    
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required, Master’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant field preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in international education (preferably in the area(s) of advising, first-year experience, event planning or leadership (or other relevant field).
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated understanding of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada requirements for study and work permits. RISIA Certification or IRCC Designation considered an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to communicate effectively in English with a wide range of individuals at all levels internally and externally. 
Established success as a communicator in an international setting with skill/sensitivity to the complexities of cross-cultural communication.
Fluency in a second language spoken in one of KPU’s target markets.
Proven ability to be flexible in adapting public speaking/presentation style to people of different backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated knowledge of post-secondary educational systems including academic offerings at KPU as well as other post-secondary institutions.
Excellent organizational skills: including the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. 
Experience supervising and managing performance of staff.
Self-starter with the ability to take a leadership role or work as a team member, exercising both discretion and good judgment in dealing with confidential and/or controversial University matters.
Ability to think innovatively and creatively in planning and developing a fresh approach to existing activities.
Flexibility to take on a wide variety of duties and willingness to adapt their work schedule as required by the department.
Ability to travel extensively as required.
Personal experience studying, working and living abroad an asset.
Knowledge of standard computer applications such as word-processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
