OVERVIEW
The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (E/I Technician) works as part of the maintenance team to complete day to day electrical and instrumentation repairs.  


RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Work safely while conducting required duties and have a strong dedication to working safely
  • Maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment through predictive and preventative maintenance strategies including, but not limited to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCSs (Distributed Control Systems), AC/DC variable speed drives, and power distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment as needed
  • Work as part of a team and independently as required
     

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have:

  • A Red Seal Certificate in Industrial Electrician or Instrumentation Technician, or other applicable trade
  • A diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology (Power & Controls) or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Technology will also be considered
  • 5+ years of experience working in a similar industrial environment
  • Experience working in an industrial environment
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in difficult circumstances
  • Availability for evenings and weekends, and 8 or 12 hour shifts as required

Compensation
The E/I Technician is paid in accordance with the Unifor, Local 96 collective agreement. The starting rate for a journeyperson is $44.25 per hour.
