 OVERVIEW 

Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, Thermal Plant, and supported by a team of electricians, some of whom have a rotating work schedule, the Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the electrical maintenance of the Plant while maintaining high standards in terms of health and safety, equipment availability, labour skills and maintenance costs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Ensure that work is performed in accordance with health and safety, environmental and quality standards, and objectives.

·        Proactively ensure the health and safety of workers (safety meetings, prevention, investigation, awareness).

·        Empower employees according to the Plant’s orientations.

·        Plan and ensure the execution of maintenance work to meet the needs of internal clients.

·        Establish and monitor a preventative maintenance program to optimize equipment efficiency and availability.

·        Cultivate close working relationships between the team and the different internal clients within the Plant.

·        Organize and follow up on electricians’ skills development.

·        Function as a resource person for the Department.

·        Maintain all databases related to electrical equipment up to date (lists of cables, motors, instruments, etc.).

·        Establish work schedules for electricians.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

·        Diploma of college studies (CEGEP) in electricity

·        Hold a Class C Electrician Certificate

 

EXPERIENCE

·        Three (3) years of experience in managing and supervision personnel. 

        Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

        Experience with different PLC automation tools.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·        Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy, leadership, and initiative and have a good ability to organize work.

·        Good communicator.

 

LANGUAGES

·        Bilingual (French and English).
