Pension Analyst, Co-op
Defined Benefit Pension Administration
Fall/Winter Co-op (Sept-Dec, Jan-Apr)
As a Co-op, you will be responsible for administering pension plans and providing analytical and administration support to both clients and the team.
•Performs various pension benefit calculations (retirements, terminations, post-retirement deaths etc.) in accordance with pension plan rules and legislative requirement.
•Works with pension databases and Morneau Shepell’s internal software systems. Assists in the preparation of year-end annual pension statements, pension adjustments, pension adjustment reversals and other reports.
•Respond to requests by clients, members and trustees, by communicating pertinent information
•Attends internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends.
•Assists with special projects, as required
Succeeding as a Co-op will require the following core qualifications and skills:
•Pursuing or recently completed a University degree in mathematics, statistics, administration or finance
•Aptitude for working in a computerized environment and excellent knowledge of Word and Excel
•Attention to detail, initiative, organization and professionalism
•Flexibility, availability and ability to work under pressure while managing own priorities
•Enthusiasm, team spirit and ability to work without supervision
•Good oral and written communication skills
