Stuart Olson Construction Ltd. is seeking Civil Pipelayers with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in municipal watermain, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and drainage construction who have a keen interest in being a part of a rapidly growing civil team that prioritizes construction by safety first, quality and profitability.
This position is located in the Lower Mainland with client sites in the Fraser Valley, Langley, Vancouver, Richmond and Coquitlam areas.
Working in and around heavy equipment
Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Ensure the safe operation of small/light equipment.
Install pipe according to manufactures instructions or specifications.
Ensure the safety of your team members.
Participate in daily safety meetings.
Complete daily equipment service checks and complete daily inspection logs (pre-trip inspections).
Follow instructions of the Superintendents/Foreman.
2 years’ experience as a civil pipelayer
Willing to join the CLAC Union
Experience in civil construction and have installed piping materials such as HDPE, ductile iron, PVC, CSP as well as stainless steel custom piping
Ability to read drawings and understand the requirements
Knowledgeable in survey, grades and elevations
Experience with integrated grade control systems an asset
Strong focus on attention to quality and details and customer satisfaction
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with diverse personalities and work force
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
Extensive shoveling and raking will be required
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50lbs.; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs.with assistance
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with experience, quality and production capabilities and is above industry average
Overtime is compensated per the CLAC collective agreement
