Reporting to the General Manager, the Electrical Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical estimating as well as safely delivering the project to specification, on schedule, on budget, while building and maintaining excellent relations with our clients.


This position is based in the Sudbury, ON office.

  • Monitor and control the day to day of all electrical tenders and operational contracts.

  • Supervise electrical staff including allocation and control of work.

  • Attend divisional management meetings and prepare and present reports as necessary.

  • Review areas of concern progress and schedules for all ongoing projects and initiate corrective actions with project team / client to resolve.

  • Provide support and expertise in preparation of all proposals.

  • Develop and improve department tools and work instructions on a continuous basis.

  • Maintain good relationships with clients regarding their feedback and future business.


Stuart Olson Corporate

  • Lead and participate in corporate initiatives.




  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or post-secondary education

  • P.Eng., Red Seal Electrician, PMP and GSC an asset

  • Operational budgeting experience an asset

  • Advanced MS Office, Excel and Accubid skills

  • 10 years’ experience in Project Management and Electrical Estimating Field with a focus on industrial construction sites and managing operations

  • 5 years’ experience in a managerial or leadership role

  • Experience in managing projects in the million-dollar range and up preferred

  • Exposure to a diverse industrial customer mix (i.e. mining, hydro, pulp and paper, remote locations etc.)

  • Strong leadership capability as evidenced by demonstrable success in team / collaborative work environments

  • Hands on and able to lead by example, while also delegating effectively through working with direct reports and key stakeholders

  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups

  • Ability to successfully navigate a fast-paced, complex and changing work environment, while managing multiple and shifting priorities, with an approach that encompasses both collaboration and integrity

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment

  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly developed critical thinking, logical analysis and problem-solving skills with the highest standard of professional ethics and integrity

  • Willing to travel as required to address project issues as customer sites are based in various locations around the country
