Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Quality Control Lead is responsible for ensuring conformity by all field personnel to the turnaround specific Quality Control and inspection procedures.
This position is based 90 kms west of Edmonton on a client site.

Conduct performance plans and assessments with direct reports.
Maintain high level of morale among direct reports.
Act as coach and mentor to direct reports.
Recruit and assign site Quality Control inspection personnel, personnel are typically assigned by work scope.
Plan, schedule and control all aspects of the on-site quality control activities.
Prepare Quality Control procedures and inspection checklists for the turnaround work packages, as packages are being produced.
Maintain an effective system for recording field generated documents, inspection reports, checklists, non-conformities, corrective actions, client supplied items, warehousing, receiving, testing, authorized inspection sign-offs, etc.
Issue regular concise field quality reports that provide an overview on the quality of the work in progress.
Review the qualifications and competence of Quality Control Inspectors and non-destructive examination technicians and ensure that their certifications are correct for the work being performed on a regular basis.
Ensure full close out of all turnover records to the client.
Manage the turnaround request for information process.
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Mechanical or Materials Engineering Technology
3-5 years’ leadership or supervisory experience
10+ years’ Industrial turnaround experience specifically with power boilers
Working knowledge of SAP an asset
Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a focused team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly
Strong leadership capability as evidenced by demonstrable success in team/collaborative work environments
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
