Stuart Olson Inc., in partnership with Capital Region Housing, is seeking General Labourers/Flaggers, ideally with 2+ years’ experience in the construction industry. Our team is seeking Labourers with flagging experience for our Edmonton, AB client site.
Work both indoors and outdoors.
Day shift rotation to consist of a 5-day (44hr/week) work schedule followed by 2 days off. Occasional weekend work may be required as the project progresses. Potential overtime may be required.
Safety equipment will be required, 6” high ankle steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat, safety vest and gloves to be provided.
Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work area.
Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
Responsible for the set-up, maintenance and takedown of traffic signage
Responsible for the safe and courteous movement of vehicles and personnel at the assigned job site
Mop, brush, or spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean or protect them.
Operate jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement.
Follow instructions from crew lead hand and foreman.
Assist craft workers.
Assist in set up of temporary lighting and heating equipment.
2 years’ experience as a general labourer in the construction industry an asset
Drug & Alcohol Testing Required
TCP Flagger certification
General construction safety knowledge
Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
Strong focus on customer satisfaction
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a demanding environment
A team player with strong people skills
Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs. with assistance
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
