English for Art and Design: Studio
July 6, 2020 – August 14, 2020; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Online delivery, combining synchronous and asynchronous material.
Training and course preparation to begin in early-mid June.
EAD Bridge To First Year is a 6-week summer bridging program for English Language Learners (ESL/multilingual students) who have received a conditional offer of admission to OCAD University and are planning on starting for-credit courses in September 2020.
This program will be delivered online, asynchronously. While assignments and activities will have specific due dates, students will have flexibility with how they organize their time.
The EAD Instructor will report to the Manager, English Language Learning, Writing & Learning Centre. The EAD Instructor will work closely with the EAD teaching team to deliver one section of Studio and provide learning support for English Language Learners (ELL) in the EAD Program, with an aim of enhancing ELL student academic performance and engagement. The curriculum for the course has been developed.
Course preparation and delivery, including assessment and grading; participation in Instructor and program meetings; participation in training and course planning prior to the start of classes.
Hours of Work: Approximately 80 hours per contract per section. It is expected that multiple sections of the course will be offered; instructors may be considered for delivery of more than one section.
Terms of Employment: The contract is for the duration of the course only and is subject to sufficient enrolment.
Compensation: $65 per hour, inclusive of vacation pay, as applicable, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act
