What You Bring:

• Secure special attachments to equipment
• Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
• Operate heavy equipment
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
• Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks; perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Load, handle and transport materials and heavy cargo safely according to relevant legislation
• Deliver material to destinations, unload materials and complete paperwork
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Apply ratchet straps and chains and binders to secure load to trailer
• Manage vehicle in safe operating condition required by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
• Manage Logs and records as per the Department of Transportation (DOT)
• Adhere to site road bans / curfews
• Report hazards to relevant authorities and Project Management
• Adhere to Phoenix Safety policies and procedures regarding operating equipment
• Inspect working environment prior to operating equipment
• Managing and performing general house keeping and daily cleanup of work area
• Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture
• Relevant Terms: heavy equipment operator, equipment operator, operator, excavator operator, heavy duty mechanic, mechanic, construction, loader operator, mining.

Requirements:

• Successfully complete a pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Physically capable of performing all required tasks of a labourer
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•          Must have your own transportation and be able to travel to client site.
•          Valid Drivers’ License
•          Standard First Aid Level C CPR/AED
•          CSTS-2020
•          WHMIS 2015
•          H2S Alive Certification (Energy Safety Certification preferred)
