The  Director of Talent Development  is an exciting, newly created role with Brightview Senior Living that was designed to support our long- standing commitment to fostering growth and development for all Brightview associates. As we continue to expand and open new communities throughout our portfolio in the Mid-Atlantic, NY Metro and New England regions, we recognize the importance of adding a resource to help ensure that Brightview has a robust pipeline of diverse internal talent to meet our current and future goals. 

The Director of Talent Development will focus on the development and implementation of proactive initiatives that foster an environment where every associate has an opportunity to excel and achieve personal and professional goals including Individual Development Plans, succession planning, mentorship programs, etc.

This role will also serve as a champion and ambassador to promote career opportunities within Brightview through relationships and partnerships with a variety of organizations such as affinity groups, colleges/trade schools, community colleges, healthcare training organizations, HBCUs, veterans and other not-for-profit- organizations, and others who may serve as referral sources for diverse talent.

What will you be doing:   

  • Oversee Individual Development Plans to promote participation and new enrollments, monitor progress toward goals, provide support, and execute plans across the organization to promote the advancement of diverse associate populations.
  • Serve as champion and ambassador to promote career opportunities within the Brightview organization.
  • Lead the organization’s mid-level succession planning efforts, ensuring a robust pipeline of diverse internal talent to support attrition and growth across the community portfolio.
  • Build and maintain dashboard and detailed reporting on associates actively involved in career development.
  • Serve as super user on internal talent management solutions and as subject matter expert for individual development plan modules that support associate growth and development.
  • Develop and foster partnerships with affinity groups, colleges, not for profit organizations, and others who may serve as referral sources for diverse, promotable candidates.
  • Lead an internal mentoring program to pair developing associates with mentors who can aid in and support their growth.
  • Partner with learning and development to craft and deliver a variety of developmental tools for those seeking to advance their careers.


You may be a great fit if you have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership development, training, or human resources role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate vision, foster strong relationships, and inspire and challenge others.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with and influence a wide range of individuals and groups; ability to present effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writing in a variety of formats and mediums.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to issues of cultural differences, gender equity, religious tolerance, structural racism, ageism, gender identify and expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to apply advanced reasoning, logic, and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles and regulations around recruiting, succession planning, compensation, and performance management.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet based applications. 
  • Ability to travel locally, out of state, and overnight up to 40% of time.
