The Accounting Manager - A/P for Brightview Senior Living is responsible for providing leadership and management of Brightview’s accounts payable and travel and expense functions.  They will lead through influence and collaborate with associates across the Company to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. With over 40 senior living communities in our portfolio and a growth plan to grow by 3-5 communities every year, this role is critical to ensuring that we maintain a strong accounting support function that can grow with us.

The Accounting Manager - A/P will be hands on in the management of the team.  They will create and monitor metrics on team performance.  They will develop, implement and maintain procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company policy.  The Manager will also participate and/or lead technological improvements to workflow and processes.

What will you be doing:   

  • Hands on manager of the accounts payable team.
  • Monitors and analyzes all accounts payable processes and recommends improvements.
  • Develop and report relevant accounts payable metrics to monitor team performance.
  • Ensures timely and accurate payments of vendor invoices, associate expense reimbursements and investor distributions.
  • Develops, implements and maintains systems, accounts payable procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Participate and/or lead technological improvements to existing accounts payable, treasury & expense reimbursement processes and procedures.
  • Develops, implements and maintains all relevant procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Develop and manage the company credit card processes and programs.
  • Responsible for filing all required monthly, quarterly and annual reports (i.e. 1099 forms, sales & use tax forms, etc.) timely.
  • Collaborate with Accountants, Home office Associates, Business Office Directors and Regional Teams.

  • Bachelor of Science in Business or Accounting or related field with at least five years as a manager
  • Technical competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and general ledger applications and the ability to advance current skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both oral and written form. 
  • Ability to function as a manager as well as work in a team environment.
  • Ability to apply reason, logic, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation.
  • Ability to work with strict deadlines in a high-volume environment.
