This posting is for current and future opportunities and will be filled on an as needed basis.  Applications will be considered for any openings that become available between now and June 30, 2024.

As a drop-in program monitor for the Recreation and Culture department, you will assist with the supervision of the Town of Oakville drop-in programs. 

Job Responsibilities:

•    Arrive at the program site in time to properly prepare for the day's program and start and end the program according to schedule.
•    Ensure the continuing safety of all participants while at the program.
•    Maintain accurate attendance records and proof of payment from each program participant.
•    Create and enforce a positive and respectful environment for those participating.
•    Assist with daily set up/clean up of the program site.
•    Provide exceptional customer service including assistance for any customers that have questions regarding Town of Oakville programs.
•    Apply safety precautions and procedures in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Town of Oakville policies.
•    Notify the supervisor of any problems and/or recommendations regarding participants which may affect the quality of the program.
•    Attend and participate in all staff training sessions.
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•    Ability to skate at a high level (no equipment)
•    A responsible individual independent worker
•    Strong communication skills to deal effectively with staff and public
•    Exceptional Customer Service skills 
•    A motivated individual who has a passion and knowledge in program activity
•    Knowledge of Town of Oakville drop-in programs is considered an asset.  
•    Emergency First Aid with AED, CPR B or Standard First Aid AED/CPR C
•    Successful candidates, who are new hires and/or who have not performed in this position previously will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment.
