Aquatic Supervisor

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Outdoor Pool is looking to employ a qualified and experienced senior lifeguard and advanced instructor to fill the Aquatic Supervisor role this season.

Qualifications Required:

National Lifeguard (NL)- Recent up to 2 years

Water Safety Instructor (WSI)- Recent up to 2 years

Standard First Aid- Recent up to 3 years

Airway Management and Oxygen Administration (AMOA)- Recent up to 2 years

CPR-C & AED- Recent up to 3 years

Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) – Recent up to 2 years and taught a minimum of 4 courses.

Pool Operator 1 or Pool Operator 2

Aquatic Supervisor Training (AST), Head Guard Course (HG) or another leadership course(s).

Food Safe- Current up to 5 years and experience in the food industry

Two or more years’ aquatic experience in a supervision role.

Post-Secondary Degree Preferred.

Fluent in the use of Word, Excel, Power point, and other desktop applications.

Experience in cash handling and book-keeping.

Experience using one of the following: Max Galaxy, Perfect Minds, Class, or another Recreation Software.

One or more of the following:

National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI), Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT), or First Aid Instructor (FAI)- Current

Duties:

Upkeep of the facility to all current Provincial and Interior Health, WorkSafe BC, BC & Yukon Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, and Food Safe Requirements.
Long term season planning, including operational dates, hiring and training schedules, supply ordering schedules, public schedules, program dates, and budget management. This includes creating the Recreation Guide for each season.
Programming all pool pricing, memberships, programs, and schedules into recreation software.
Website management and social media updates.
Office management and book-keeping duties.
Hiring and managing the training schedules of all facility staff, including organizing and running monthly staff in-services.
Scheduling of all facility staff according to available season budgets and operational requirements.
Time sheet and payroll inputting for all facility staff using Work Force Now.
Programming and overseeing Red Cross swimming lessons.
Programming, instructing, and overseeing Lifesaving Society programs including Canadian Swim Patrol and the Bronze Family awards.

Hours & Pay Rate

Pay Rate	$22.00/hour + 4% accrued vacation pay
Hours	Full Time, Monday- Friday. 40 hours/week. Hours as required by operational requirements.
Reports Directly To	Armstrong Spallumcheen Parks & Recreation General Manager
Starts & Ends	April 1^st- September 30^th
