We are looking for an Exhibitions Project Manager

As an Exhibitions Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the process of developing museum exhibitions (i.e. temporary, travelling and permanent exhibitions) and/or other cultural products, with various multidisciplinary teams; ensuring that all financial management aspects of projects meet operational requirements; ensuring that project objectives are met and that project teams comply with the Museum's strategic and operational requirements, and museological standards for multiple simultaneous projects; and performing other related duties as necessary or as assigned.

Minimum of three (3) years' experience in:

  • Managing multiple and simultaneous exhibitions of all types and/or cultural products;
  • Managing multidisciplinary project teams developing museum exhibitions and/or cultural products;
  • Preparing, monitoring and overseeing budgets and project schedules;
  • Providing advice, participating, negotiating and launching various contracts.
  • Planning, carrying out, supervising and closing projects;
  • Preparing and delivering various reports and presentations.

Knowledge of:

  • Project management processes and practices;
  • CMH and CWM's mandate, programs and services;
  • Methods related to the development of museum exhibitions and/or cultural products; 
  • General museological principles; 
  • Preparation, monitoring and management of complex budgets and project schedules, and preparation of reports on this effect;
  • Policies and procedures for public sector procurement;
  • Team management, risk management, effective communication and assessment techniques;
  • Target audiences and project stakeholders;
  • Technical aspects related to the development of museum exhibitions in a complex and/or multidisciplinary institution;
  • MS Office Suite and MS Project software, etc.

Education: Diploma in project management or a related field in administration, social sciences or museology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A project management certification (such as PMP) would be an asset.

Compensation: $77,393 to $95,778
Status: Temporary Full-Time (# 10369-01), until October 1, 2027
Security Level:  Reliability Status
Location: 100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec
